Behind ThinkCarpi
I’m a human resources professional with more than 14 years of experience, specializing in workplace accommodations and leave of absence. I’m also developing AI-supported workflows and reusable skills for business processes, bringing practical HR experience to questions of system design, human judgment, and accountability.
My career spans military and corporate HR. I’ve managed complex accommodations and leave matters, supported return-to-work planning, and helped leaders navigate employee needs alongside organizational requirements. My experience includes ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, USERRA, and state leave requirements, as well as improving workflows and providing guidance to employees, managers, and cross-functional partners.
Through ThinkCarpi, I’m applying that process knowledge to AI workflow design. I design workflows that help organize information, identify gaps, and prepare work for human review. I’m particularly interested in making approval points, decision ownership, and verification explicit when translating a business process into an AI-supported system.
I’m interested in opportunities that connect AI engineering and business process design with my expertise in workplace accommodations and leave.
My academic background includes a Master of Science in Organizational Development and Leadership and bachelor’s degrees in Organizational Development and Human Resource Management from the University of the Incarnate Word. I’m pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and Program Evaluation at the same university.
My research interests include human-AI collaboration, fairness, trust, and organizational decision-making. My proposed dissertation explores how HR professionals experience and interpret AI-supported recruitment, including the role of professional judgment and human oversight. These questions also inform how I approach building workflows: understanding how people use a system matters alongside understanding what the technology can do.
